Character Name: Snow White
Series: Snow White & the Huntsman
Age: 18
From When?: Approximately three months after her coronation.

Inmate/Warden: Warden - Snow has a very strong belief in the good triumphing over evil. She realizes that path is not always the easiest because hey, it took a war for good to remove the evil from her land. But she's willing to take that road if that's what it takes.
Item: A dirk.

Abilities/Powers: Snow is a warrior - she knows how to hold her own fairly well in a fight - though she's better with a weapon than she would be hand-to-hand - and she knows how to ride a horse. The trope of her connection to nature is also present - what with all the heavy handedness that whole her return to reign will save the world and make everything stop rotting. But it's also turned on its head since she's able to calm a troll just by roaring back at it. Oh, and being around her's also supposed to make you feel all better. So like if you got a headache, it's supposed to let up in her presence.

Personality:
There are essentially two sides to Snow's personality: that of the healer and that of the warrior. These two halves may seem at odds or contradictory with one another - one is certainly more passive and diplomatic while the other is fiery and forceful - but Snow has lived two very different lives in her eighteen years of life. Before Ravenna came into her life, she lived a life of comfort and luxury, but also that of one grooming her to some day rule over the land. She learned the the difference between right and wrong, the importance of compassion, and to others in mind over her own needs and wants - especially the needs of the kingdom. Most of this she learned through her mother such as when she found an injured raven and wished to nurse it back to health. Queen Eleanor encouraged her to always hold onto her compassion because it would make her a good queen for her people one day.

These lessons are something that stayed with Snow through her struggles to take back her kingdom. When she made her escape, Snow tried to help Ravenna's most recent victim though it was too late to really save her; Ravenna had already drained her of her youth. Only when the old woman that had been a young maid not too long ago urged her to escape, did she abandon her. And when it came to the matter of Ravenna herself, Snow was still able to feel compassion and sorrow for her even after everything she had done. Granted, she was angry. Ravenna had caused a lot of suffering in the land - it literally died and people were miserable/suffering for ten years - and Snow could not forget that immediately. But her anger was not blinding in that she could not feel sympathy for her stepmother. She didn't see Ravenna as an embodiment of evil that needed to be vanquished rather as a woman lost to darkness that could no longer find her way to salvation and it was the good within Ravenna that Snow mourned.

After Ravenna came into Snow's life and murdered her father, Snow had to learn the life of survival though she would not immediately gain every skill right away. When she was locked away in the tower, Snow was more or less forgotten. Ravenna would have no use for her until her 18th year and the guards never paid her any mind beyond bringing her meals and the like. The only company she had was temporary; that of the maidens Ravenna spirited away to drain them of their youth for her own power and beauty. This isolation was a mixed blessing. Although it was hard on Snow to see the faces come and go and being in such barely liveable conditions for ten years, it was enough to keep her sheltered from the full extent of Ravenna's reign. She was able to hold onto her faith in that which is good. Snow prayed every day, holding onto the belief that there were still others out there that would fight in her father's name, that there was still light amongst so much darkness. Snow also had time to learn the importance resourcefulness while she was locked away whether it was something as simple using straw and spare cloth to create dolls for herself or useful as how to start her own fires. That particular lesson culminated in her escape when she feigned docility only to attack the queen's brother Finn and escape from the castle.

Once outside the walls of the castle, Snow faced many challenges towards her beliefs. Namely they came in the form of the huntsman that had been meant to collect her and bring her heart to the queen. Although Eric's intentions had been ill towards Snow until he fully realized the treachery of the queen, she placed her trust in him after he helped her escape the queen's brother. It was both an act of desperation and a sign of her continued faith in the good of others. But the important part of their dynamic was that Eric had long since lost most of his hope for a better life after the death of his wife. He was always quick to point out the harsh realities of what the world had become while Snow White had been locked away. These were difficult things for Snow to reconcile with her belief of the world, but she stubbornly refused to give into the idea that there was no good left in their world. These polar opposites obviously resulted in a middleground. While Eric gradually began to see things Snow's way - that good still existed and would never give up - Snow also came to realize that simply making it to the duke would not somehow change the tide. She had to become active in her own fate and in the fate of her kingdom. While it is not ever made entirely explicit in canon, Snow has somewhat of a childish view of the world at the beginning of her journey. Her primary focus is only to get to the duke and she never placed much thought beyond that. After her journey with Eric and the queen's curse that placed her into a death-like slumber, her attitude changes. Though it is difficult, she knows it must be done. She makes the transition from being a beacon of hope to being the sword of the people.

Aside from all that deep, philosophical stuff about life and the nature of man that Snow clearly had a lot of time to ponder over - she's also a teenager. That means she's capable of having fun and she enjoys conversations other than philosophical debates. Although there's not many instances of this since she's on an epic quest to save her land and that's no time for funny business, but there are some instances such as when she is helping a little girl make a doll made of straw, when she learns how to dance with Gus the dwarf, and when she's reminiscing with her childhood friend (who is actually Ravenna in disguise dun dun dun). Snow has genuine interest in others when she makes conversation, asking questions and looking for their opinions. It doesn't mean she will always agree with everyone, of course. When she doesn't, she remains respectful of the other's opinion but she's still willing to challenge theirs and voice her own. This, of course, reveals some of that teenage stubbornness because she's more apt to want to change someone else's opinion rather than her own even if she doesn't go about it in a combative way. Assertiveness, in other words, is paramount during a disagreement and not aggression.

Barge Reactions: Snow White is from a medieval-era. As you might imagine, the Barge is going to blow her mind in terms of the technology and being in space. She may be a little clumsy with the technology at first, but she's not really afraid of new experiences and is also a very quick learner. So with assistance and some explanations, she'll adapt to that end of it rather quickly. The same really goes to reacting to people on the Barge from different worlds from her own. She's going to be curious and want to ask about their life experiences and she'll be open about her own in return.

Snow will be dedicated to the duties of being a Warden. She won't be afraid of getting tough with a difficult Inmate, but she won't jump immediately to such extremes. She'd much rather be gentle but firm until they give her another reason. She will be open with her Inmate from the start and try to make them see her more as their friend and confidante rather than a guard. Snow has been imprisoned before for ten long years and she knows what it's like to be in isolation and how little that would help someone move towards redemption. Therefore, as alluded to earlier, she would try to avoid placing her Inmate in Zero unless no other choice was given to her.

Snow would react well to flood/ports. As mentioned above, she's not fearful of new experiences. So, in that regard, when challenges arise, she will meet them as best she can. Flood/ports that leave her confined or isolated in some manner are likely to bother her the most though because well, 10 years in generally solitary confinement has a tendency to do that to a gal.

History: Wiki.

Sample Journal Entry:
I would never assume that I know everything there is to know, but ever since coming here, I feel like the things I have to learn are neverending. Not that I mean to complain. This is... [She pauses, searching for the right word.] ...amazing and far beyond what I ever thought possible or something I would ever see.

I've learned the basics of this device and I managed to find the library, but I'm lost as to where to begin. Would anyone be so kind as to point me in the right direction?

Sample RP:
She stopped in the entryway, hand finding the frame to steady herself. She hadn't dared venture down here her first few days. She knew what it was and for a while that was enough, but Snow knew she couldn't avoid it necessarily forever. After thoroughly investigating the rest of the Barge, she had little choice.

Snow released the breath she hadn't realized she was holding as she stepped further. Just one step at a time. Timid at first, but more sure of herself the further into the brig she got. She stopped outside the first cell, opening it, and that was far enough for her.

So this was level zero.

Silence didn't bother Snow anymore, not as much as it used to. But she had learned there were different sorts of silences. Some were comfortable, companionable ones that allowed the mind to wander and reflect. And others were like this that flowed out of the cell. Deafening and heavy. Maybe all in her mind. But she recognized this silence and her skin began to crawl in response to it. The urge to flee sank deep into her stomach and her heart raced, begging to leave but she stayed rooted to the spot. She had been treated well enough in her confinement and she knew it was because of her royal blood that she was not left to languish like other prisoners. She knew she had little to complain about. Ravenna never let her freeze, thirst, or hunger. But she did nothing about the silence.

Drawing slow, calming breaths, Snow made herself a promise.

"Never," she breathed, pushing the silence back into the cell. The desire to retreat left her as she closed the cell door with more force than necessary. The silence would stay there and stay there alone. So long as she had the power to do otherwise, she would never allow her future inmate to suffer that.

When she left, she left with confidence in her step and her head held high.
