That was my first experience with what most of you consider to be modern. I...I had fun while I was there, but it was admittedly a little difficult at times when those men with cameras would appear. What are they called? Papa-something.

So long as there is an or involved - and there always is - there's always a choice. Even if it's deciding not to do anything at all, you've made a decision to sit by and let others act instead or let events unfold as they will.
By saying there is no choice involved is belittling each and every single one of the inmates here. In other words, all their progress is for nothing and meaningless because they're not actually doing anything. But they are because part of their recovery is getting them to understand that they have a choice. They've always had the ability to choose.
