[Snow has been thinking. A lot. About deals and going home and everything. She feels like she's at a crossroads. She's recently been unpaired from her inmate, which she supposes isn't like losing her inmate, but it's still a little discouraging. It would be simple to just return home. Let that be that.]

[But she's started to wonder if it's just her deal that keeps her here. She's started to create bonds and friendships here that she knows she'd miss dearly if she were to return to her world. In short, she doesn't know what that means.]

How many of you have intentions of returning to your world once you have succeeded with your inmate? Do you wish to return simply because the deal you have arranged is all that you have left to do or wanted to do in the first place?

Or must you return?

[Snow hesitates a moment before adding:] Have any of you changed your mind?

Unfortunately it's this what makes life on the barge... both stable and maddening. Without that-- person, those people, it's easier to forget... well.

I want my deals, don't get me wrong. But without the family I've grown here, it wouldn't be the same.

I suppose you won't know if you're willing to truly leave everything here behind until all of your deals have been made.

I don't know about that.

If my lover graduates and he doesn't have any reason to remain-- I'd be pretty tempted to leave, deal or no deal. Especially if he wanted to go to my world, with me.

And if he wanted to return to his world? Would you go with him?

Ah--hah. No. No, if he-- he wants to go home we'll... regrettably separate. His world has no real place for me, and mine-- I have promises to keep. Duties I can't simply walk away from. My poor city has had enough of people giving up on it.

Therein is the risk of relationships on the barge. Everyone belongs to worlds and families and places that don't... always line up.

Yes, I have come to realize that...

[Unfortunately. Maybe not regrettably.]
