[Warden Filter]
I have noticed an increase in talks about building a better sense of community here on the Barge as of late. It's certainly not a bad conversation to have because regardless of whether or not a particular individual is a warden or an inmate, we are responsible for ourselves and for one another.
For that to happen, I believe we as wardens need to take a look at ourselves. Our main focus is, of course, the inmates. Different reasons have brought us here, but regardless of our motivations, the rehabilitation of the inmates is our top priority. To do that best, we need to be at our best. I do not mean to say that mistakes cannot happen, but rather that we must rely on one another for our care as we do to care for the inmates. Truthfully, I have not been here long enough to assess the support in place, but I worry we are not taking care of ourselves enough.
That said, I also wonder if perhaps there is a way to include the inmates in such a system, to encourage a healthy and better sense of camaraderie with everyone on board. I know not every inmate deserves the same amount of trust or input necessarily given their current states and the recent wrongs they have committed, but I think more inclusion could greatly benefit relations between everyone regardless of their status.
It may seem hypocritical of me to propose this only to the wardens for now, but we are the ones with the power to institute these changes.
I just ask that everyone reflect upon this and please offer any opinion you may have.

A network made of wardens and inmates could be the best way to achieve this. Especially if the wardens involved are former inmates themselves. They could act as support.

Like the engine room debacle. As soon as Toshiko was deposed, and I mentioned I had a key, many people decided to talk about who should oust me, despite that Toshiko and I hadn't been an item for months.
Things have evened out now, for the most part, but at the time? It was a pretty crap thing to do to a newly graduated inmate who was taking up the mantle of warden. But humans do more on emotion than they ever do on logic or reason.

I do agree though that your treatment was unfair. Even if you had been associating yourself with Toshiko more recently, there was no reason to treat you with such suspicion.
